For many years he owned and operated a swine production farm and decided to “retire” from livestock production in 2004. Hidden Hollow Farms still produces corn and soybeans. Senator Gibbs also owns Gibbs Enterprises LLC, a rental property business.

Gibbs announces approval of state loan for Medina company's expansion
Columbus- State Senator Bob Gibbs recently announced that NCRx Leasing Corporation in Medina has been approved for a $1.2 million Innovation Ohio Loan by the state Controlling Board. The company plans to purchase machinery and equipment as part of NCRx's development of a new ophthalmic lens production system, a $2.4 million project that is expected to create 65 new jobs.

Orrville-Rittman Schools Superintendent Jon Ritchie testifies before Senate Education Committee

Columbus- Superintendent Jon Ritchie, who heads the Orrville City School District and the Rittman Exempted Village School District, recently appeared before the Senate Education Committee to give a presentation on the administrative compact by which the two districts share certain personnel in order to save money. State Senator Bob Gibbs, who represents both districts in the Ohio Senate, also serves as a member of the committee.

Columbus—State Senator Bob Gibbs recently testified before the Senate Finance and Financial Institutions Committee in support of Senate Bill 193, his legislation that would provide companies who hire previously unemployed individuals with a tax credit. Gibbs is co-sponsoring the bill with Senator Kirk Schuring (R- Canton).

Gibbs announces approval of legislation to create livestock care standards board
Columbus - State Senator Bob Gibbs announced that the General Assembly has given final approval to Senate Joint Resolution 6, placing a constitutional amendment on the ballot this November that seeks to promote the highest standards in Ohio-raised food and protect Ohio's number one industry. Gibbs co-sponsored the resolution with Senator Jason Wilson (D- Columbiana). Similar legislation was also introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Gibbs and Grendell announce passage of legislation to protect Ohio livestock farmers
Columbus - State Senators Bob Gibbs and Tim Grendell (R- Chesterland) today announced the Ohio Senate has approved Senate Concurrent Resolution 8, legislation that urges the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to refrain from adopting any new regulations governing greenhouse gas emissions from livestock.

Gibbs' bill allowing 16-year-olds to donate blood approved
Columbus - State Senator Bob Gibbs today announced the Ohio Senate has approved Senate Bill 57, his legislation that would lower the minimum age for voluntary blood donation to 16. Gibbs introduced the legislation to help expand the number of eligible blood donors.

Gibbs named chairman of Senate Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee
Columbus - Senate President Bill Harris (R-Ashland) today released committee assignments for the 128th General Assembly, appointing State Senator Bob Gibbs to serve as Chair of the Senate Ways and Means and Economic Development Committee. Recognizing Gibbs' years of farming and business experience, Harris also tapped him as Vice Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, as well as a member of the Senate Education Committee, Environment and Natural Resources Committee and Highways and Transportation Committee.
