The Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee reviews legislation impacting Ohio's wildlife, forests, and parks and recreation. The Committee also oversees state conservation policies regarding soil, mineral, and water resources. The Environment and Natural Resources Committee works in association with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Public Utilities Commission, and Ohio's business community and citizens to ensure the responsible use of the state's natural resources. The committee makes recommendations to the full Senate for the advice and consent of governor's appointments to the departments, boards and commissions that regulate environment and natural resource issues.
