Edna Brown (D-Toledo) was elected to serve Toledo and Ohio’s 11th Senate District in November, 2010. She comes from the Ohio House of Representatives, where she represented Ohio’s 48th House District. Since her arrival in the General Assembly, Senator Brown has worked tirelessly on issues of voting rights, health, violence against women and economic development. The Toledo native is a public school graduate who attended the University of Toledo and Mary Manse College.

Senator Brown Named to Deferred Compensation Board
Columbus-State Senator Edna Brown has been named to the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Board (OPEDC) by Ohio Senate President Thomas Niehaus.  Senator Brown will serve as one of two legislators who represent the General Assembly on the OPEDC Board, a body charged with fiduciary responsibility for the Ohio Deferred Compensation Program.

Senator Brown Sworn into Office to Represent 11th District
Columbus - State Senator Edna Brown was sworn into office as the first African-American to represent Lucas County and the 11th District in the Ohio Senate.  Her Democratic colleagues also elected Senator Brown to serve as Minority Whip in the 129th General Assembly.
