Senator Jason Wilson, Assistant Minority Whip

30th Senate District
Senator Jason Wilson

Senator Jason Wilson represents nearly 300-thousand people in the State of Ohio – The 30th State Senate District includes Columbiana, Belmont, Jefferson, Harrison, and part of Tuscarawas counties.

Senator Jason Wilson has a background in business with a Master's Degree from Wheeling Jesuit University. He majored in political science with a minor in business from The Ohio State University.

Senator Wilson has entered into his first official role in public service at the Ohio Statehouse. His life of serving people began nearly five generations ago – from the work of his great-great-grandfather who began the family businesses.

Public service has become a tradition if not a legacy in the Wilson Family.
Senator Wilson’s father first campaigned for public office in 1996. Charlie Wilson served the Ohio House of Representatives for four terms. He turned his endeavors of becoming a State Senator into a reality, and as you probably know now, the elder Wilson is now serving in Congress.
Senator Wilson worked alongside his father after graduating from Ohio State University with degrees in business and political science. He managed all five of his father's successful campaigns at the state level. This success gave him the drive and determination to do more -- and his background coupled with his formal education only solidified his commitment -- to work and serve the people of Ohio.
Senator Wilson is the newly appointed member of the State Finance Committee. He is also the Ranking Member of the Agriculture Committee, and a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Highways and Transportation Committee, and the Energy and Public Utilities committee.

After being appointed to the Senate in 2006, Jason was reelected in November to a full term, and was subsequently elected Assistant Minority Whip for the 128th General Assembly. He resides in Columbiana with his wife, Leah, and their three children.
