Senator Joe Schiavoni represents the 33rd Senate District encompassing Mahoning, Carroll and portions of Stark and Tuscarawas counties. He grew up in Boardman and graduated from Ohio University with a BA in Communications and obtained a law degree from Capital University. He joined the Ohio Senate in January 2009. Senator Schiavoni also serves as an attorney representing injuried workers.

Senator Schiavoni Applauds Passage of Jessica Logan Act
Columbus - State Senator Joe Schiavoni applauded the passage of House Bill 116 in the Senate Education Committee, now known as the Jessica Logan Act. The bill incorporates several concepts from Senator Schiavoni's SB 127, which also addresses current anti-harassment policies in Ohio's schools and the growing problem of cyber bullying.

Senator Schiavoni Calls for Additional Resources to Monitor Earthquakes
Columbus - In response to the recent earthquakes in the Youngstown area, State Senators Joe Schiavoni and Lou Gentile (D-Steubenville) have called for general revenue funding to be restored to the Division of Geological Survey, the state agency responsible for monitoring earthquakes in Ohio.
