State Senator Keith Faber has been dedicated to representing the views and best interests of the residents of western Ohio. After serving three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, Senator Faber is honored to serve as State Senator for Ohio’s 12th Senate District, which includes Allen, Champaign, Mercer, Preble, Shelby and parts of Auglaize and Darke counties. In the Senate, Faber has quickly risen through the ranks. For the 129th General Assembly, he was elected by his fellow Senators to serve as the Senate’s President Pro Tempore– the number two post in the chamber. He also plays a leadership role on a wide variety of issues by virtue of his committee assignments, which not only keep him busy when in Columbus, but give him a seat at the table when many policies that directly impact the lives of his constituents are developed.

Senator Faber announces increased dredging to begin at Grand Lake St. Marys
Columbus- State Senator Keith Faber announced today that increased dredging at Grand Lake St. Marys will soon take place in an effort to remove phosphorus-laden sediment that is contributing to water-quality issues at the lake. An amendment providing $750,000 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for the dredging and related disposal was included as part of the state Transportation budget that was approved by the Senate earlier this week.

Senator Faber speaks at school choice rally in Columbus

Columbus- State Senator Keith Faber spoke to more than 1,000 school choice advocates yesterday at a rally on the west side of the Ohio Statehouse, stressing the importance of school choice and urging those present to contact their legislators and voice their support. Faber is sponsoring legislation in the Senate that would provide families with more options in selecting the school that best meets the individual needs of each student.

Faber announces release of state grant for roadwork improvements in support of Continental Carbonic Products' expansion in Greenville
Columbus -State Senator Keith Faber today announced the state Controlling Board has approved the release of a $150,553 Roadwork Development Grant to support roadwork improvements associated with the expansion of Continental Carbonic Products, Inc. (CCPI) in Greenville, a project that is expected to create 72 new jobs.

Faber and Huffman urge U.S. government to reconsider eliminating funding for Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle
Columbus - In response to the recent announcement that the U.S. Department of Defense will end the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) program in order to trim defense spending - a move that would result in the loss of 200 jobs in Lima - State Senator Keith Faber and State Representative Matt Huffman (R-Lima) issued the following statement:

"We are deeply concerned by Defense Secretary Gates' decision to end funding for the EFV, as the project not only holds tremendous promise in better protecting America's troops but also plays an important role in the economic vitality of northwestern Ohio. Roughly 200 people are currently employed at the Lima manufacturing facility where the EFV is produced, and the elimination of this project would be a severe blow to the community.

Faber sworn in as President Pro-Tempore of the Ohio Senate

Columbus - As part of the opening day ceremonies for the 129th General Assembly, State Senator Keith Faber  was today sworn in as President Pro-Tempore of the Ohio Senate. In the previous General Assembly, Senator Faber served as the Senate Majority Floor Leader.  Prior to being appointed to the Senate in 2007 to fill the unexpired term of Congressman Jim Jordan, Faber served for six years as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
