COLUMBUS — State Senator Larry Obhof today announced the passage of legislation that seeks to improve efforts at the state and local levels to better match job opportunities and training programs with those seeking work. House Bill 1, sponsored by Representatives Mark Romanchuk (R- Ontario) and Tim Derickson (R- Hanover Township) is companion legislation to Senate Bill 2, which passed the Senate in March.

COLUMBUS — State Senator Larry Obhof today announced the Ohio Senate has approved House Bill 59, the state’s biennial budget. The two-year, $61.8 billion budget also provides funding for state agencies and departments, as well as health and human services for Ohioans in need. The budget includes a targeted tax cut for small businesses and makes the largest investment in public education in the last decade. 

COLUMBUS — State Senator Larry Obhof today announced that the Ohio Senate has voted to strengthen a law designed to protect children from kidnappers and other predators.  Senate Bill 64 was introduced following a series of court decisions that declared Ohio’s current law too broad to enforce.

COLUMBUS — State Senator Larry Obhof today presented members of the Ashland University women’s basketball team with a Senate resolution honoring them as the 2013 NCAA Division II Champions. The Eagles defeated Dowling College to win the championship – the first national title for the University in any team sport.
