Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) was elected to serve Lakewood, Cleveland and Ohio's 23rd Senate District in November, 2010. He comes from the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served four terms as the Representative for Ohio's 13th House District. After graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business and political science from Walsh College, Skindell earned his law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He represented the people of Lakewood as a Councilman at Large between 1998 and 2002.

Columbus- Senator Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) and State Representative Robert F. Hagan (D-Youngstown) introduced legislation today in the Senate and House of Representatives addressing the concerns of many Ohioans regarding the chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing by the oil and gas industry.  The legislation calls for removing the gag order that was placed on medical professionals through SB 315 and expands the reporting requirements for oil and gas well permits.

Columbus – Senator Michael J. Skindell (D-Lakewood) has introduced Senate Bill 277 to create the Ohio Health Benefit Exchange Agency, which will be responsible for operating the Ohio Health Benefit Exchange Program.  The Federal Affordable Care Act requires all states to enact legislation that establishes a health exchange by January 1, 2013.
