State Senator Chris Widener represents the 10th Senate District, which includes Madison, Clark and Greene counties. Before coming to the Senate, he served three terms as the State Representative for the 84th House District.

An architect by trade, Senator Widener brings strong interpersonal skills, a dedicated work ethic and a keen attention to detail to his job as a legislator. He engages with witnesses in committee and his fellow senators about key issues. He spends hours researching important bills. Through the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) in Clinton County, the funds will be used to equip administrators and school boards to improve the implementation of agriculture education and continue professional development for Ag teachers.

The Ohio Department of Defense Economic Impact study and web portal will allow users to identify the current and potential economic impact of defense spending in Ohio and its regions. It will also provide a summary of Department of Defense spending by state, county and city.

"This budget accomplishes what we hoped to achieve and that is to help those most in need," said Widener. "By leaving $1.75 billion more in the pockets of Ohio families and small businesses, it will spur job creation and boost our economy. I am especially proud of the investment this budget makes in education, providing nearly $1 billion in new funding for schools and universities."

Our community colleges and universities have distinct missions. Community colleges were designed to provide degrees and programs that meet local workforce needs.
