COLUMBUS—State Senator Dave Burke (R-Marysville), today was presented with the 2018 Award for Public Service at the Center for Community Solutions' (CCS) annual Celebration of Human Services in Cleveland, OH.
"I have worked with CCS for a number of years on Medicaid and other health and human services issues, and was honored to receive this prestigious award from such a thoughtful and well-researched organization," said Burke, Chairman of the Senate Medicaid, Health and Human Services Committee. "I look forward to our continued collaboration as we strive to improve our healthcare system and make a positive impact on outcomes for individuals and communities across Ohio."
CCS established the award in 2015 in memory of John A. Begala to recognize those who have shown a great commitment to public service, especially as it relates to improving health and human services. Past recipients of the award include: former Senator Shannon Jones, Representatives Nickie Antonio and Robert Sprague, and Greg Moody who served as director of the Governor's Office of Health Transformation.

Since 1997, Burke and his wife have owned an operated Dave's Pharmacy in Marysville, Ohio. He proudly represents the families and communities of Ohio’s 26th Senate District, which includes all of Union, Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Sandusky, Seneca and Wyandot counties.
