June 21, 2011
Senator Bill Coley and members of the Lakota East High School Baseball Team outside the Senate Chamber.
State Senator Bill Coley (R- Liberty Township) today recognized members of the Lakota East High School baseball team on the floor of the Ohio Senate for winning the Division I State Championship. Coley presented the team and their coach Ray Hamilton with a resolution honoring their achievement during this afternoon's Senate session. "These young men have been a tremendous source of pride for their school and the entire Lakota community this season, and I am proud to be able to recognize them before the Senate," Coley said. "Their hard work and dedication has brought them success both on and off the field, and I wish all the players and coaches best wishes in their future endeavors." This is the first state title in any sport for Lakota East, which defeated Perrysburg 6-2 to win the championship.
