COLUMBUS—Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) today named State Senator Bob Hackett (R-London) as Chairman of the Senate Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee for the 133rd Ohio General Assembly.
"I am honored to be named Chairman of this committee, I will be talking with leaders from the banking and insurance industries to improve financial security for all Ohioans," said Hackett. "I look forward to continuing our work with these two vitally important industries to help grow Ohio’s economy."
The Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee consolidates the Insurance Committee and Financial Institutions Committee into one legislative panel.
In addition to the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee, Senator Hackett will Chair the Senate Finance Health and Medicaid Subcommittee and serve on the Senate Committees on Agriculture and Natural Resources; Health, Human Services and Medicaid; Local Government, Public Safety and Veterans Affairs; and Ways and Means Ways.
“I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues and building on our efforts to make government more efficient and creating opportunities for Ohio families," added Hackett.
