LaRose Applauds Transportation Innovation with Proposed Charging Stations Along Ohio Turnpike
October 22, 2018
COLUMBUS—State Senator Frank LaRose (R-Hudson) today attended the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission’s (OTIC) monthly meeting where they announced their partnership with Electrify America to install the first electric charging stations along the Ohio Turnpike. Senator LaRose, chairman of the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Workforce committee and member of the OTIC issued the following statement on the announcement:

“Ohio continues to lead the way on transportation innovation just as we have throughout history. With more and more car manufactures investing in electric vehicle technology and as the public embraces these exciting new vehicles, it’s vital that Ohio’s infrastructure is in place to meet the new demand. These ultra-fast charging stations will help create a cross country route used by electric vehicles and I’m pleased that route will take them directly through Ohio. OTIC’s foresight and preparedness continues to position Ohio for continued success.”

The planned charging stations will be located at the Wyandot and Blue Heron Services Plazas in Genoa and at the Indian Meadow and Tiffin River Service Plazas in West Unity. For more information about this announcement please visit,
