Today, state Senator Sean J. O’Brien (D-Bazetta), a legislative member of the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee, announced that the committee has begun accepting applications for 2019-20 public committee assignments.
“This committee plays a vital role in protecting and enhancing the aviation industry in the Buckeye State, which has been an essential part of Ohio’s legacy since the Wright brothers took that first flight over 100 years ago,” said Senator O’Brien. “I encourage anyone committed to the betterment of Ohio’s aviation and aerospace industry to apply.”
The aerospace and aviation committee will accept applications until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8 to fill 14 public vacancies. The group seeks a geographically diverse membership with varying levels of professional experience in the fields of aerospace and aviation.
The committee, established in 2014, has worked to develop a comprehensive strategy to promote the aviation, aerospace and technology industries throughout the state. Part of that ongoing promotion includes the amplification of workforce initiatives and emerging research and development. They also foster communication and resource-sharing among professionals and organizations involved in the industry, including businesses, military and academia.
