May 21, 2019
Today, state Senator Sean J. O’Brien (D-Bazetta) hosted meetings with officials from General Motors, Workhorse and a newly formed company interested in purchasing the GM facility in Lordstown.

“It is good to see an Ohio company interested in purchasing the Lordstown plant and potentially building new electric vehicles,” said Senator O’Brien. “The discussions were positive and the dialogue will continue. As with any new venture, there are many challenges but we remain hopeful there will be a new vehicle in the plant.”

Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina)and Senator Michael Rulli (R-Salem) also attended the meeting, together with Lordstown Mayor Arno Hill, the president of the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber, James Dignan, venture capitalist Steve Burns, Workhorse’s Duane Hughes and representatives from General Motors and JobsOhio.
