Senator O'Brien calling local officials to announce the water quality certification for TJX
State Senator Sean J. O’Brien (D-Bazetta) announced today that the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a water quality certification to TJX Companies for its TJX HomeGoods distribution center in Lordstown. That means construction on the 1.2 million-square-foot facility may continue, with a groundbreaking expected in early April.
“This is a big step forward for the TJX Homegood project,” said Senator O’Brien. “We are now ready to move forward with a groundbreaking in the coming weeks, and we’re closer to making the project a huge success for the Valley.”
TJX Companies received the Ohio EPA 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC), which confirms that businesses plan to uphold state water quality standards when discarding dredged materials during construction. The Ohio EPA considers all comments submitted by the public before issuing a WQC.
