COLUMBUS—During today's Session, State Senator Lou Terhar
(R-Cincinnati) took a moment to recognize the sacrifice and bravery of our military families, and more specifically the kids whose parents defend our nation. Ohio alone has over 30,000 incredible military kids among our ranks.
"Having served for over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, I frequently witnessed the bravery and commitment shown by the kids whose mothers and fathers were consistently being re-stationed or deployed to all corners of the world to keep our country safe," said Terhar. "I have the utmost respect and admiration for the families of our servicemen and women, and I encourage everyone to take some time this month to reflect on what it truly means to be a military child and the challenges that presents."
April is widely recognized across the nation as "Month of the Military Child." Earlier this year, Senators Terhar, Kunze and their colleagues adopted aresolution
that officially designated April as such in Ohio.
"Ohio Military Kids frequently posts opportunities to get involved through volunteering and keeps Ohio's military kids informed of events in their area. I encourage you to follow them on Facebook @OhioOperationMilitaryKids
," added Terhar.
