Tom Patton is proud to be the son of a Cleveland Police Officer and the father of a Cleveland Heights Policeman. Though the enforcement side of the law seems to be in the family’s blood, as a State Representative for six years and now as the State Senator for the 24th Senate District, Senator Tom Patton has found his own niche in law-making. The 24th District encompasses portions of Cuyahoga County and includes 26 communities, including Bay Village, Bentleyville, Berea, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Chagrin Falls, Chagrin Falls Township, Fairview Park, Glenwillow, Hunting Valley, Independence, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Moreland Hills, North Olmsted, North Royalton, Oakwood, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, Pepper Pike, Rocky River, Seven Hills, Solon, Valley View, Walton Hills and Strongsville – Senator Patton’s hometown. Patton has served in the Senate since 2008.

Patton announces Checkpoint Surgical to receive state loan for expansion, job creation
Columbus- State Senator Tom Patton recently announced the state Controlling Board approved a $1 million Innovation Ohio Loan to Checkpoint Surgical, LLC for the purchase of machinery and computer equipment in support of the company's $1.4 million production expansion as it prepares for a national product launch. As a result of this project, Checkpoint Surgical will create 17 new jobs at its Cleveland facility.

Patton announces Cleveland area companies to receive funding for advanced energy projects
Columbus- State Senator Tom Patton today announced three Cleveland-area companies have been awarded more than $7 million in loans by the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA) for projects involving advanced energy. The loans were approved by the state Controlling Board, which provides legislative oversight over certain capital and operating expenditures by state agencies and departments.

Patton sworn in as state Senator for the 24th Senate District

Columbus - As the Ohio General Assembly commenced its 128th session, State Senator Tom Patton was today officially sworn in as the newly-elected Senator for the 24th Senate District. Patton, who was previously elected to three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, was appointed to the Senate in November to complete an unexpired term. Today's session marked Patton's first day of a new four-year term.
