This week, state Senator Hearcel F. Craig (D-Columbus) and Representative Kristin Boggs (D-Columbus) honored Columbus resident Kaylie Goines as the 2022 Youth of the Year awardee for the Boy and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio.
“I am incredibly proud of Kaylie and want to congratulate her on this award and for her hard work and dedication,” Craig said. “I’m grateful for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, which continue to pour into our youth and provide ladders of opportunity for our youngest residents. Our children are not only our future, but our now.”
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, which has eight clubs serving three Central Ohio counties, strives to give young people the support, guidance and skills to succeed in life. They provide programming for youth from age 6 through 18 that focus on safety, healthy lifestyles, academic success, and character and leadership and serve more than 100,000 meals to over 4,000 young people annually.
“The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio continue to provide exceptional wrap around support and services to ensure that our young people will not only be successful in the future, but also lead happy and healthy lives,” Boggs said. “The Youth of the Year award is such an impressive feat and Kaylie’s leadership skills prove that she is very well deserving of this award. I look forward to seeing what the Youth of the Year honorees accomplish next.”
