Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) released the following statement after State Auditor Keith Faber released the Unemployment Compensation Performance Audit.
“The state auditor’s report confirms what Ohioans have been telling us all along – our unemployment system is broken and we need to act quickly to make improvements. The other members of the Unemployment Compensation Modernization and Improvement Council should carefully consider the report’s recommendations and start making changes to ensure the unemployment system can serve Ohioans when they need it. We can and must do better to hold the system and those in charge of it accountable to the people.”
The Unemployment Compensation Modernization and Improvement Council will hear from the auditor during its meeting on Thursday, September 30. The council will meet at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Statehouse in the Senate Finance Hearing Room. You can watch the hearing at
