Hottinger Finishes 2019 with Perfect Voting Record
December 23, 2019
COLUMBUS—State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) completed 2019 without missing a single floor vote in the Ohio Senate, marking the twenty-seventh year of perfect attendance during his twenty-eight years of public service in the Ohio Senate, Ohio House and Newark City Council.

“Serving the people of the 31st Senate district is something I take great pride in doing," said Hottinger. "Being present for every vote is essential to being the voice of my constituents on important issues such as ensuring the safety of our citizens and fostering economic development.”

Hottinger serves as the Majority Whip of the Ohio Senate and sits on several important committees. In addition to sponsoring many initiatives in the state budget to help at-risk children in Ohio, this year he has led efforts to provide host family programs to assist families in crisis, increase penalties for cruelty to animals, and strengthen protections for victims of abuse.
