COLUMBUS— State Senator George Lang
(R- West Chester) announced today the passage of Senate Bill 134 by the Ohio Senate. Also known as the Business Fairness Act, S.B. 134 would allow businesses forced to close in response to a pandemic to remain open if they are able to meet the same safety measures placed on businesses not required to close.
"During the pandemic, Ohio's small businesses proved that they were willing to go above and beyond to protect the health and safety of their customers and employees. All they ask is for the opportunity to remain open," Lang said. "This bill will ensure that businesses both small and large operate on the same playing field during a pandemic."
Senate Bill 134 would not apply to an order or rule issued for a particular business due to some circumstance uniquely present at that location. For more information about the Business Fairness Act, click here
