This week, state Senator Tina Maharath (D-Columbus) received committee and board appointments for the 133rd General Assembly. Senator Maharath will serve on six Senate committees, including as ranking minority member on Local Government, Public Safety and Veterans Affairs.
“It’s an honor to lead Democrats on the Local Government committee. I hope we’ll start addressing the challenges facing our communities, our veterans and their families,” said Senator Maharath. “I’ll be focused on making sure the bills we pass put workers first, that they build opportunity for all Ohioans and improve their lives.”
Senator Maharath will also sit on the following committees:
- Finance subcommittee on Higher Education
- Transportation, Commerce and Workforce
- Health, Human Services and Medicaid
- Education
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
Senator Maharath was also named to the board of the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund, which provides funding to programs fighting child abuse and neglect and educating child service professionals.
“I look forward to advocating for some of our most vulnerable kids because all of our children deserve a bright future,” said Senator Maharath.
