Valley Lawmakers, ODNR to Hold Northeast Ohio Sportsmen Roundtable
October 4, 2019
State Sens. Sean J. O’Brien (D-Bazetta) and Michael Rulli (R- Salem), with representatives from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and Whitetails Unlimited, will hold a Northeast Ohio Sportsmen Roundtable on Monday, October 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Yankee Lake.
“As hunting season kicks off, Senator Rulli and I are holding this roundtable to bring our local sportsmen and sportswomen together and provide an update on the industry,” said O’Brien. “With some of the best wild areas in the country, hunting and fishing have always been an indispensable part of life in the Buckeye State. We look forward to meeting with our constituents and answering questions they have prior to heading out into the field this year.”
ODNR Division of Wildlife officials, as well as deer and fish biologists, will offer presentations and facilitate a Q&A session on topics that include Ohio deer management goals and the status of the perch stock in Lake Erie. They will also provide updates on other native species, including turkeys, otters and eagles.
“I’m happy to be working with Senator O’Brien to support sportsmen and women throughout our beautiful state,” said Rulli. “We appreciate any feedback that can lead to growing this community and benefit the hunters and anglers in Ohio.”
The event is free and open to the public. All hunters and anglers are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided. No RSVP required.
