State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) recognized Lebanon Correctional Institute's Ernie Moore yesterday for being named Ohio's Warden of the Year.
“I am glad to recognize the commitment and diligence of Warden Ernie Moore," said Peterson. “It is because of his remarkable work that he was rightly named the Warden of the Year by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.”
Moore began his career with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) as a Correction Officer in 1987. Throughout his career he has moved up through the ranks becoming a Warden in 2004 at the Lebanon Correction Institute. After other assignments with the DRC, including Regional Director and Director, Moore was appointed as the Warden at Lebanon Correctional Institute again in 2012.
"Warden Moore exhibits the innovative leadership skills necessary to bring about positive changes in a business that is often perceived with negativity," said Gary Mohr, director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
Senator Peterson presented Warden Moore with a resolution on Wednesday during a special presentation on the floor of the Ohio Senate.
