COLUMBUS— In response to the U.S. House of Representatives vote this week to ratify the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, State Senator Kristina Roegner
(R-Hudson) issued the following statement:
“Here in Ohio, we recognize that trade with our neighbors to the north and south is critically important to the continued strengthening of our families and economy. Over 150,000 agricultural jobs and nearly 500,000 positions in our manufacturing sector are supported by that trade, and secured by the USMCA. That is why I co-sponsored SR 376 in October and why I am delighted by the House’s passage of the USMCA.” Senate Resolution 376
urged Congressional Action on the USMCA, and passed the Ohio Senate in October.
“I would like to thank Ohio Senate President Obhof for introducing SR 376 and for his role serving on the Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee on Trade (IGPAC), which provides policy advice to the U.S. Trade Representative. This included advice on the USMCA. I would also like to thank President Trump and the Administration for their work in supporting the working men and women of our state.”
