COLUMBUS—State Senator Sandra Williams testified in the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor committee on Senate Bill 81, legislation that would create a license plate honoring women veterans. The Senator was approached by the Women Veterans Advisory Committee earlier this year and asked to sponsor a bill that would recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by women in our U.S armed forces.

COLUMBUS—State Senator Sandra R. Williams (D-Cleveland) announced today that the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has approved funding for the Burke Mansion community project through its cultural facilities grant program. The Cleveland Music School Settlement, which serves as the owner and operator, will use over $250,000 to replace the HVAC system at the Burke Mansion.

Williams honored the Communication Sciences & Disorders Program at Case Western Reserve University at the Ohio Statehouse in recognition of its 50th Anniversary. Kay McNeal, Clinical Program Director for the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western accepted the Senate Proclamation on behalf of the leadership and staff of the program.

Columbus –Today, Senator Sandra R. Williams (D-Cleveland) testified before the Ohio Senate State and Local Government Committee on her legislation that would establish the Ohio Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) to conceal the addresses of victims of stalking, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Senate Bill 83 would allow Ohioans who fear their safety is threatened to use a placeholder mailing address and would prohibit the disclosure of a participant’s address in the public record.
