Sen. Yuko Issues Statement On Student Walkouts, Efforts To Address Gun Violence In Ohio
February 21, 2018
Columbus—Today, Senate Minority Leader Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) issued the following statement on the school walkouts which are occurring nationwide to support the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and protest America's gun violence epidemic:

"I’ve been deeply inspired by the students in Florida, and all over the country, who have taken up the fight to change our laws to keep our children and schools safe. We need to see this momentum continue.

"As a state legislative leader, I want to do my part to make sure our children are always safe. I am engaged in conversations with my colleagues in the Ohio legislature to quickly pass laws that reduce gun violence. To the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and students all across America: we hear what you’re saying and agree that the time for change is now."
