WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS–Today, State Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) and mayors from the 25th Senate District gathered together for the second Mayoral Luncheon, hosted by ITT Technical Institute.
“As a state legislator, I cannot do my job without the input of our local elected officials,” said Senator Yuko. “We need to work together with local institutions of higher education, like ITT Tech, to make sure every possible resource is available to help our constituents become well-trained and qualified workforce employees.”
During this meeting, Senator Yuko and the mayors discussed how successful ITT Tech has been in helping students from their local communities receive a higher education. Attendees debated ways to connect and build relationships with local institutions of higher education and examined how ITT Tech is playing a role in Northeast Ohio. The group also considered current legislation at the state level and discussed ways to work together to best serve the citizens in the 25th Senate District.
“Education is a driver for the health of a city or state’s economic development,” said Gerald Kraatz, director at the ITT Technical Institute in Warrensville Heights. “We are proud to be a part of the solution by delivering a career-based education and to share our student’s success stories with elected officials in Northeast Ohio.”
