COLUMBUS—Today, Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni (D-Boardman) and Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) sent a letter to leaders of the Ohio General Assembly and statewide office holders, asking for a collaborative effort in crafting legislation that would legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes in Ohio.

COLUMBUS—“The Ohio Worker’s Rights Act”, Senate Bill 25, received its first hearing in the Senate Transportation, Labor, and Commerce Committee, during which State Senator Kenny Yuko, the bill’s sponsor, gave testimony. The bill is a multi-pronged approach to improving worker’s rights in Ohio and a priority for the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus for the 131st General Assembly.

State Senator Kenny Yuko honored the Beachwood High School Girls Track Team in the Ohio Senate for winning the State Championship. Coach Smith was joined by Mia Knight, Maya Gaines-Smith, Emilykate Hopsum-Boyd, and Hannah Kahn who all received special recognition, along with a Resolution honoring all of them for their accomplishment.

COLUMBUS –State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) and Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) will soon introduce legislation to modernize voter registration in Ohio and potentially add over 1 million people to the voting rolls. Ohio continues to struggle to implement federal Motor Voter laws.  This bill will fix those problems and automate voter registration for graduating high school students as well.

COLUMBUS—Today, State Senator Kenny Yuko (D-Richmond Heights) praised the Ohio Tax Credit Authority’s approval of a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit to the Lubrizol Corporation expansion into Painesville Township. This tax credit is slated to create an additional $1.6 million in their annual payroll, equating to 24 new full-time positions.
