State Senator Dave Burke announced that he has recently introduced Senate Bill 235, legislation that would establish a waiver for the commercial driver's license (CDL) skills test for drivers with military commercial motor vehicle experience.

State Senator Dave Burke announced that he has been named vice-chairman of the Senate Health, Human Services and Aging Committee by Senate President Tom Niehaus (R- New Richmond). In addition, Burke was also named to the Senate Agriculture Committee and the Highways and Transportation Committee.

State Senator Dave Burke announced he recently introduced Senate Bill 228, legislation that would allow Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)  to issue a medication order that would allow certain medications to be administered to patients by medical professionals when the CNRA is unavailable.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today he has introduced Senate Bill 222, which would require the Ohio Department of Transportation to display the POW/MIA flag at each rest area along interstate highways and the Ohio Turnpike. Rest areas currently display the U.S. flag and the Ohio state flag. Burke noted that the Ohio Revised Code currently encourages the POW/MIA flag to be flown over each public building in Ohio, but does not require it.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today the State Controlling Board has approved a $600,000 state loan for the purchase of a building in Plain City by Anscot, LLC. The building will in turn be leased to Eden Cryogenics, LLC to expand its manufacturing capabilities - a project that is expected to create 30 new, full-time jobs and retain 23 others.

State Senator Dave Burke announced he has recently introduced Senate Bill 214, legislation that would require a public retirement system to comply with a restitution order following the conviction of a public employee for certain offenses committed in the course of public employment, such as theft in office.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today he has introduced Senate Bill 210, legislation that would exempt members of the armed forces and law enforcement from needing to complete a hunter education and conservation course in order to obtain an Ohio hunting license.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today that fire departments in Crawford and Sandusky counties have been awarded Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA) Grants. The grants provide fire departments and fire associations that serve communities with populations under 10,000 with matching federal funds for equipment upgrades and assistance with organizational and training costs.

State Senator Dave Burke and State Representative Rex Damschroder (R- Fremont) announced today they have introduced legislation that would authorize joint boards of county commissioners to conduct proceedings on existing improvement projects and other routine business via teleconference or video conference.

State Senator Dave Burke announced today that the state Controlling Board has awarded a $130,000 Rapid Outreach Grant to Algaeventure Systems, Inc. for costs associated with the purchase of new machinery and equipment as part of the company's expansion in Marysville. As a result of this project, Algaeventure will create 200 new, full-time jobs.
