State Senator John Eklund (R-Munson Township) presented the Chardon Competitive Cheerleading Team with a resolution on the floor of the Ohio Senate today for being named the Ultimate International Grand Champion cheerleading team.
“The heights to which the Chardon Cheerleading Competitive Squad has risen is yet another reflection of the pursuit of excellence that is the hallmark of Chardon Schools," said Eklund. “We are all very proud of these young ladies and we know great things lie ahead for them.”
The team received an unprecedented three national titles this year before receiving their highest award during the international cheer competition at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Florida.
The team is accomplished in both their sport and in the classroom with a 3.65 team grade point average.
