Fedor Calls for Speaker Householder to Resign
State senator urges repeal of H.B. 6 and announces upcoming legislation to reform campaign finance laws
July 24, 2020
Today, Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) issued the following statement:
“Speaker Householder needs to resign immediately because we must maintain the integrity of the office and do everything in our power to restore the public’s confidence in our democratic process. He is accused of picking taxpayers’ pockets for a big personal payout, and someone accused of such a crime should not be involved with any budgetary decisions.
“It is imperative we root out any corruption in our government and reverse any legislation resulting from it. Last year, I voted yes on House Bill 6. However, after learning of the corruption behind the bill, I have decided to co-sponsor the legislation my colleague Sen. Sean O’Brien has introduced to repeal it. Additionally, I will soon introduce legislation to reform Ohio’s campaign finance laws so we can make sure this never happens again.”
