Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) released the following statement after the U.S. Census released state population totals and announced that Ohio will lose a congressional seat:
“I look forward to the next redistricting process, which is an opportunity to ensure that Ohioans are fairly represented in the General Assembly and Congress. This time, we must be vigilant and hold Republicans accountable to the redistricting reforms Ohioans overwhelmingly approved in recent years. Gerrymandering has a detrimental effect on our state and there is no place for it going forward. I encourage Ohioans to participate in the redistricting process and use their voice to make sure our government truly represents the make-up of our state.”
