Members of the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus recently urged the Trump administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to reject a proposed rule that would jeopardize Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for 3 million Americans, including an estimated 135,500 Ohioans. It also threatens access to free school lunches for more than 500,000 children across the U.S.

Today, the Ohio Senate gave its final approval on the state's two-year, $69 billion budget bill, House Bill 166.  Senator Fedor was the only member to vote no on the bill.

Today, state Sen. Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) announced the passage of the Protect Trafficked Minors Act, Senate Bill 13. The bill passed unanimously on the Senate floor after a vote out of Senate Judiciary Committee earlier in the day.

The Republican-led Ohio Senate Finance Committee today voted to advance the state's two-year operating budget. The latest budget draft contains sweeping policy changes to K-12 education, including the restoration of controversial school takeovers. State Sen. Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) expressed her deep concern with the changes and called for the final version of the budget to include language addressing this flawed system.

Today, state Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo), Ranking Member on the Senate Finance Primary and Secondary Education Subcommittee, released the minority report on the subcommittee's work during state budget deliberations. In her report, Senator Fedor called for the end of academic distress commissions and focusing on barriers to learning for disadvantaged students.
