October 18, 2018

COLUMBUS— State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) will host a ceremony Friday, November 2, 2018 dedicating a portion of U.S. Route 40 in the Village of Kirkersville in Licking County, as the “Kirkersville Chief Steven “Eric” DiSario Memorial Highway.”

Kirkersville Police Chief Steven Eric DiSario was killed on May 12, 2017 after responding to a call of a man with a gun at the Pine Kirk Care Center, a nursing home in Licking County.

“The tragic death of Chief DiSario is still felt in Kirkersville and throughout Licking County,” said Hottinger, who sponsored the legislation for the memorial highway. “Designating this highway, in his honor, will guarantee that this memory and sacrifice lives on.”
