Hottinger Announces Funding Approval for Licking County Roadwork Improvement Projects
November 9, 2020

COLUMBUS—State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) today announced the approval of $300,000 in Roadwork Development Grants to support Etna Township’s Ashley Furniture project with roadwork improvements.

The funds approved today will support extending Global Parkway north to Refugee Road and various improvements along Mink Street to support additional truck traffic.

¿The project is expected to create 300 new, full-time equivalent jobs. “I’m excited to see the construction of Ashley Furniture’s facility in Licking County as well as the continued job growth in the area,” said Hottinger. “These kinds of investments benefit the local community with high-quality jobs.”

Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. Eligible costs include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction, and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.
