Hottinger Announces State Approval of Funds for the Buckeye Lake Public Pier Project
COLUMBUS— State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) today announced the state's approval of $400,000 for the Buckeye Lake Public Pier project in Licking County.
The project calls for constructing a 300 ft. long boardwalk-style pier at Buckeye Lake. The request, which was included in the previous capital budget bill, allows the Department of Natural Resources to enter into an agreement with the Buckeye Lake Region Corporation.
The Buckeye Lake Region Corporation will complete a feasibility study to explore the most suitable location for development of the pier.
“I was very pleased to hear that the funds for the pier project have been approved,” said Hottinger. “This additional investment at Buckeye Lake will drive even more tourism and proves the state's continued commitment to the Buckeye Lake region.”
