Hottinger Releases Statement on Amgen Licking County Announcement
June 28, 2021

COLUMBUS—State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) today released a statement on the Amgen Licking County announcement. The biotechnology company plans to build a $365 million pharmaceutical packaging facility in New Albany that will employ 400 workers.

“Amgen’s announcement to locate in New Albany is another major economic development win for the state of Ohio, Central Ohio and Licking County. Amgen is a world-renowned bio-health company and their selection of our community is an enormous land and success for us all.

Their initial investment here in a high tech manufacturing facility illustrates yet again our area’s significant appeal to some of the world’s largest companies. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of many partners who have invested in roads, water, services and technology that make our area so enticing. Amgen is also impressed with the skilled workforce and opportunities from residents in Licking and Franklin Counties, as well as the rest of Central Ohio.

I believe Amgen will have a long and sustained presence here and it will create significant spinoff investments for the foreseeable future.”
