RELEASE: Senate Leaders Congratulate Holmes Center for the Arts on Groundbreaking of New Building
November 22, 2019
COLUMBUS—Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) and Majority Whip Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) congratulated Holmes Center for the Arts on today’s groundbreaking of a new, permanent home for their organization. The senators, who both represent Holmes county, helped secure $600,000 from the state of Ohio to fund the new building. The funding was included in the capital budget passed last year by the state legislature.

“The Arts Center plays a vital role in developing and encouraging community, creativity and education in Holmes County,” said Obhof. “I appreciate the commitment of the Center’s leadership to share the arts with our families, as well as the hard work of everyone that helped make this dream a reality.”

“Investing in the arts is investing in our community’s growth,” added Hottinger. “The arts serve as an important way to bring us together, and this new space will not only continue to encourage all forms of art in Holmes county, but also allow for additional programs for at-risk teens, after-school activities, and space for community events.”
