State Senator Jay Hottinger (R–Newark) has announced the 2015 Legislative Scholarship Program that assists students in obtaining necessary education and training to obtain a job in an Ohio business or industry.
The scholarship is sponsored by the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools in cooperation with members of House and Senate in the Ohio General Assembly.
Scholarships are available for full or half tuition as well as specific dollar amounts.
“It is important that we prioritize training our workforce to make sure we have quality employees to fill the jobs that industries are bringing to the district and throughout Ohio,” said Hottinger. “The 2015 Legislative Scholarship Program exists to ensure that hardworking individuals have the opportunity to access the job training they need to further their career and get the jobs they deserve.”
The scholarships are available to any current high school seniors who will graduate from an Ohio high school by June 2015.
In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must obtain the signature of a State Representative or State Senator on their Legislative Nomination Form. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2015.
