COLUMBUS — During today’s opening ceremonies for the 130th General Assembly, Larry Obhof was sworn in as Majority Whip for the Ohio Senate. Obhof is serving his first full term in the Senate, having been appointed to the chamber in 2011. He represents the 22nd Senate District, which includes Medina, Ashland and Richland counties and portions of Holmes County.
“It is a privilege for me to represent the families and communities of 22nd District, and I am grateful for the confidence of my colleagues in selecting me to join the Senate’s leadership team,” said Obhof. “During my time in the Senate, we have worked to improve Ohio’s economy through lower taxes, smarter regulations, and fiscal responsibility. I look forward to building on this momentum as the 130th General Assembly gets underway.”
Since joining the Senate, Obhof has focused his legislative efforts on improving Ohio’s economy and creating opportunities for job growth. A graduate of The Ohio State University and Yale Law School, Obhof also works as an attorney with the national law firm BakerHostetler. He lives in Medina with his wife and three daughters.
