COLUMBUS — State Senator Larry Obhof has been named by Senate President Keith Faber (R- Celina) as Vice Chairman of the Senate Civil Justice Committee for the 130th General Assembly. In this position, Obhof will play a key role in examining and developing policies that impact Ohio’s court system, as well as the state’s civil and commercial law.
Senator Obhof will also serve on several other committees. These include, among others, the Senate Rules Committee, the Ways & Means Committee, the Insurance & Financial Institutions Committee, and the Finance Subcommittee on General Government.
“This new committee structure will allow me to focus on the reforms that are necessary to strengthen Ohio – particularly in the areas of tax policy and government operations at the state level,” Obhof said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues and building on our recent efforts to make government more efficient and get Ohioans back to work.”
Senator Obhof joined the Senate in 2011 and was recently elected to a four-year term. He has been selected by his colleagues to serve in Senate Leadership as the Majority Whip – the number four post in the Senate. In addition to his legislative duties, Senator Obhof is an attorney with the national law firm BakerHostetler.
