COLUMBUS – State Senator Larry Obhof was selected this afternoon by his colleagues in the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus to serve as Majority Whip – the number four post in the Senate – during the 130th General Assembly. The Majority Whip is responsible for monitoring legislation and votes for the majority party.
“I am honored to have received the support of my colleagues in joining our leadership team,” Obhof said. “I look forward to working with all members of the Senate as we look to build on the progress made during this General Assembly in growing our economy and creating more job opportunities for Ohioans.”
Obhof joins Senate President-elect Keith Faber (R- Celina), President Pro Tempore-elect Chris Widener (R- Springfield) and Majority Floor Leader Tom Patton (R- Strongsville) as the Senate Republicans’ leadership team for the 130th General Assembly, which will formally convene in January.
Senator Obhof was appointed to the 22nd Ohio Senate District last year, and has focused his legislative efforts on improving Ohio’s economy and creating opportunities for job growth. A graduate of The Ohio State University and Yale Law School, Obhof also works as an attorney with the national law firm BakerHostetler. He lives in Medina with his wife and three daughters.
