The Ohio Senate today passed legislation sponsored by Senator Larry Obhof that updates Ohio's statute of limitations for actions on written contracts. This is the maximum time period in which a lawsuit can be filed. Ohio's limitations period is currently 15 years - tied for the longest in the nation.

The Ohio Senate today unanimously approved a resolution urging Congress and U.S. Defense officials to reconsider a proposal that would end the C-27J aircraft program at the 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield, eliminating more than 800 jobs. Senate Concurrent Resolution 29 was sponsored by Senators Larry Obhof and Kris Jordan (R- Powell).

State Senator Larry Obhof  had the pleasure to meet members of the Ashland High School SMART Circle, a drum circle composed of students both with and without developmental disabilities. The group performed in Columbus as part of their visit to the state capitol, which also included a tour of the Ohio Statehouse.

State Senator Larry Obhof appeared before the Senate State and Local Government and Veterans Affairs Committee to urge support in saving more than 800 jobs by asking Congress and U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to maintain the C-27J aircraft program at the 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield. Obhof and Senator Kris Jordan (R- Powell) are sponsoring Senate Concurrent Resolution 29, which formally makes this request.

State Senator Larry Obhof announced that Senate Bill 165, the "Founding Documents" Bill, has been signed into law by Governor John Kasich.  The bill will incorporate the study of certain historically significant documents into Ohio students' American history and government curricula.

State Senator Larry Obhof announced today he has been appointed to the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission by Senate President Tom Niehaus (R- New Richmond). The General Assembly created the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission with the passage of House Bill 188 earlier this year. The bipartisan Commission is composed of six members each from the Ohio Senate and Ohio House and an additional 20 members appointed by the legislators.
