COLUMBUS — During today’s opening ceremonies for the 130th General Assembly, Larry Obhof was sworn in as Majority Whip for the Ohio Senate. Obhof is serving his first full term in the Senate, having been appointed to the chamber in 2011. He represents the 22nd Senate District, which includes Medina, Ashland and Richland counties and portions of Holmes County.

COLUMBUS— The Ohio Senate today approved legislation introduced by State Senator Larry Obhof that authorizes 4.7 acres of land to be transferred from the State of Ohio to the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society. The land will be used to further the Society’s ongoing efforts to preserve the historic facility, which opened in 1896.

COLUMBUS— Members of the Ohio Senate recognized OSU Football Coach Urban Meyer yesterday for leading the team to a 12-0 record. State Senator Larry Obhof – who attended the same Ashtabula County high school as Meyer – presented him with a resolution honoring his achievements during Senate session.

COLUMBUS – State Senator Larry Obhof was selected this afternoon by his colleagues in the Ohio Senate Republican Caucus to serve as Majority Whip – the number four post in the Senate – during the 130th General Assembly. The Majority Whip is responsible for monitoring legislation and votes for the majority party.

COLUMBUS— State Senator Larry Obhof recently introduced Senate Bill 390, which would authorize the transfer of 4.7 acres of land from the State of Ohio to the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society. The land will be used by the Society as part of their ongoing efforts to preserve the historic Mansfield Reformatory.

COLUMBUSIn response to the release of the recent jobs report, which shows that Ohio added 13,900 new jobs in October, State Senator Larry Obhof issued the following statement:

State Senator Larry Obhof today applauded the bipartisan passage of legislation designed to provide greater stability to Ohio's five public pension systems.  By law, Ohio's public pension systems are required to be able to meet their obligations within a 30-year timeframe.  The five bills approved today will help ensure that each of the state's pension systems is able to fulfill that requirement.
