COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Peterson
(R-Washington Court House) today announced that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) recently approved a 1.5 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the McKesson Corporation's expansion project in Jefferson Township.
The tax credit is expected to help with the creation of 42 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $5.6 million in existing payroll.
"McKesson is an important part of Fayette County, and I am excited that they are going to grow here," said Senator Bob Peterson. "Today's announcement that jobs are not only being retained, but are being created in our district because of these important tax credits certainly reinforces the importance of our efforts."
Currently ranked 7th on the FORTUNE 500, McKesson is a global leader in healthcare supply chain management solutions, retail pharmacy, healthcare technology, community oncology and specialty care.
In total, the TCA approved of assistance for 10 projects set to create 1,559 new jobs and retain 1,788 jobs statewide. The projects were reviewed and chosen from economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $105 million in new payroll and spur more than $139 million in investments across Ohio.
