Ohio Senators Welcome Australian Prime Minister to the United States
September 23, 2019
COLUMBUS - Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina), President Pro Tempore Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) and Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) today joined President Donald J. Trump in welcoming The Honorable Scott Morrison, MP, Prime Minister of Australia, and his wife Jennifer Morrison, to the White House.

The Prime Minister and his wife will be traveling in the United States from September 19-27 visiting Washington D.C., Chicago, Ohio and New York. In Ohio, they will join President Trump this Sunday in Wapakoneta for a tour of Pratt Industries, an Australian-owned manufacturing facility that produces 100% recycled paper and packaging materials.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Morrison and his wife to the United States and soon to Ohio,” said Obhof. “The relationship between our two countries is strong, and we share a commitment to economic growth, innovation and mutually-beneficial trade for the prosperity of our citizens.”

“It’s an incredible opportunity to welcome Prime Minister Morrison and his wife to the United States,” said Peterson. “When he visits Ohio, I know that he will appreciate our talented workforce, abundant resources and commitment to growth that will help both of our countries succeed.”

“Australia and the United States share a deep history of friendship and common values such as self enterprise and free markets. We are grateful for Australia's investment in Ohio and for, as the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, 'our mateship',” added Roegner.
