Peterson Applauds Candle-lite Manufacturing Expansion in Leesburg
May 14, 2020

COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) applauds Candle-lite Company in expanding their southern Ohio manufacturing facility. This expansion means an addition of 64 employees and an investment of $3,297,480 in the new facility.

"I am incredibly happy to hear about the decision by Candle-lite to expand manufacturing in Leesburg," Peterson said. "The people of Highland County have proven themselves over the years as hard working individuals and I am pleased to see Candle-lite investing more into the community."

JobsOhio and Ohio SE supported the project and its employees with a $130,000 workforce development grant. This grant will help train employees in maintenance, product knowledge and quality and technical skills

Candle-lite is the largest private sector employer in Highland County with 535 full-time employees. They are also the largest candle supplier to food, drug and mass merchant retailers in the United States. Having just celebrated 180 years this year, Candle-lite is America's oldest candle manufacturer and has been located in Leesburg since 1952.
