COLUMBUS—State Senator Michael Rulli (R-Salem) this week introduced Senate Bill 32, legislation establishing an electric vehicle charging station grant rebate program through the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

A large barrier to the adoption of electric vehicles is the lack of infrastructure especially among some of Ohio’s more rural areas. Senate Bill 32 aims to appropriate funds for incentivizing the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure near the state's highway systems.

"An electric vehicle revolution is taking place in the 'Voltage Valley'," said Rulli. "Senate Bill 32 is just the beginning of a series of bills to demonstrate my commitment to economic development and innovation through good sound policy."
